Our Mission

Committed to improving the lives of migrant farmworker children through advocacy, empathy, education, and civic engagement.

Who We Are

Harvesting Hope Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) (Tax ID is 81-3912121) agency organized to provide educational and support services to children of migrant farmworkers and their families in the South Dade Area.

Harvesting Hope Inc. has worked collaboratively with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Migrant Education Program since its inception in 2016, to assist children of migrant workers and their families who face challenges due to constant mobility, poor working conditions, low pay, language barriers, and low self-esteem. Migrant farm worker students tend to begin the school year late and/or leave early in the school year, making it difficult for some to keep up with the rigor of curriculum and different state assessments. Some of the other issues include educational disruption, social barriers, limited English proficiency, health issues, and other factors that keep migrant students from achieving as well as their peers.

Since inception, Harvesting Hope has provided over $100,000 in economic assistance for support services to children and families. Services and funds include nutrition, school supplies, uniforms, immunizations, care packages, gas cards for migrant families following the harvest season, post-secondary scholarships, toys for Christmas, gift cards, assistance with utility and rent, and other miscellaneous assistance benefiting the migrant farm worker and agriculture community. Recently, the Harvesting Hope Board voted to extend support to other agencies and community programs assisting migrant farm worker or agriculture children and families. By working collaboratively with schools, community organizations and other non-profit agencies, we are able to identify students and families in need, provide basic necessities, and help ensure these students succeed in school despite overwhelming barriers.
